Abstract [sv]

Itaab Trading AB är en svensk producent av undertak i metall med huvudkontor och fabrik belägna i Mosås, Örebro. Företaget har upplevt problem med störningar och kostnader kopplade till kvalitetsavvikelser som ett resultat av bristande fokus på kvalitetsarbete. Examensarbetet syftade till att avhjälpa kvalitetsbristerna genom att identifiera korrigerande åtgärder till avvikelserna. Projektet avgränsades till avvikelser i form av kundreklamationer. Inledningsvis utfördes en nulägesanalys genom observationer, intervjuer och mätningar i fabriken samt en insamling av befintliga reklamationsdata. När tillräckligt underlag erhållits kunde en prioritering av formulerade problemkategorier upprättas. Kategorierna tillverkning och beredning utgjorde 63 % av samtliga reklamationer och valdes därför båda ut för vidare utredning. Genom orsaksanalyser av valda problemkategorier kunde tre rotorsaker urskiljas: 1) Låg grad av ordning och reda, 2) Bristande engagemang för kvalitet och 3) Otillräckligt utrymme. Utifrån identifierade rotorsaker framställdes tre förbättringsförslag: 1) Införa 5S, 2) Mäta kvalitetsbristkostnader och 3) Utföra SMED-analys. Slutligen avfattades lämpliga tillvägagångssätt för att implementera förslagen samt ytterligare rekommendationer gällande företagets fortsatta kvalitetsarbete.

Abstract [en]

Itaab Trading AB is a Swedish manufacturer of suspended metal ceilings with headquarters and factory located in Mosås, Örebro. The company has experienced problems with disturbances and costs associated with quality deviations because of a lacking focus regarding quality work. The purpose for this thesis was to remedy the quality deficiencies by identifying corrective measures to the deviations. The project was delimited to deviations in the form of customer complaints. Initially, a current-sate analysis was performed through observations, interviews and measurements in the factory as well as through review of existing complaint data. Once enough information was collected, a prioritization between formulated problem categories was established. The manufacturing and preparation categories accounted for 63 % of all complaints and were therefore both selected for further investigation. Through cause analyzes of selected problem categories, three root causes could be distinguished: 1) Low degree of structure and order, 2) Inadequate commitment to quality and 3) Insufficient space. Based on the identified root causes, three improvement suggestions were made: 1) Introduce 5S, 2) Measure costs due to poor quality and 3) Practice SMED analysis. Finally, appropriate procedures to implement the suggestions were drafted along with recommendations regarding the company’s continued quality work.
