The purpose of this study is to examine how teachers who are teaching in the early school years find their work in multicultural classrooms, the difficulties and opportunities they encounter in teaching. The study has a qualitative method and I have gathered empirical data through interviews with three teachers that work in primary school. In this study, I present various intercultural teaching strategies and reports on teachers' experience about teaching in multicultural classrooms.
Furthermore, I discuss and analyze the results with help from literature and previous research. One of my results in the study is that there are various intercultural teaching strategies and methods that you can use in multicultural classrooms, but there is no answer key that a certain method is suitable for all student groups. In the end, it is about finding a way that precisely favors your group of students. By making teachers work in multicultural school contexts visible, you get the opportunity to raise these possibilities multicultural classroom brings, at the same time find measures on how the difficulties can be handled.
