Abstract [en]

This literature review investigates what the research says about the use of ICT in schools around the world with a focus on primary schools. These results are also compared to the use of ICT in Swedish primary schools. This systematic literature review is based on a list designed by Eriksson, Barajas et al. (2013, s32). The list describes how to write a professional systematic literature review by motivating the study, critically reviewing literature and finally drawing conclusions and summarizing. The results show that there is a widespread acceptance of the fact that society is becoming more and more digitalized and in order to give students the best conditions possible to be successful in today´s society, the school system needs to follow these developments. The results also show that the use of ICT varies around the world, not so much in how it is used but more to what extent. Although before any deeper analysis can be made this area needs to be researched more.
