This essay is what could be referred to as a literary analysis, if motion pictures would be considered an equivalent to literature. It discusses entertainment violence as a paradox, and a possible didactic tool in Upper-secondary education. The entertainment violence is also discussed in context with war, action and horror movies. It also discusses how different genres use entertainment violence differently in fiction movies, and that the violent content should be observed as imaginary and fictive work of art. Those other genres, including literature, are used for comparing how the violence distinguishes itself uniquely. The motion pictures presented in this essay, in general, are considered products of art.
