Candles Scandinavia Production AB är ett företag som idag tillverkar ljus under eget märke men även åt andra. De har funnits sedan 2011 och har sedan dess blivit ett av Europas ledande företag inom ljusbranschen. Candles Scandinavia Production AB har under våren 2017 börjat tillverka en ny doftprodukt, Diffusers. Examensarbetarna har utfört en förstudie för att se hur ett produktionssystem för Diffusers kan sättas upp utan att störa nuvarande produktionslina för ljus och vilka möjligheter som finns till en integrering av de två produktionssystemen; ljus- och Diffusersproduktionerna.

En analys av produktionen för Diffusers har utförts genom observation, processkartläggning samt samtal med personal. Produktionen har analyserats utifrån en identifiering av slöseri och olika risker i processen. Utifrån olika metoder har tre olika lösningsförslag tagits fram och resulterat i olika grader av automatisering, alla med möjlighet att integrera med nuvarande produktionslina. Lösningsförslagen är utformade med en utgångspunkt i olika Leanprinciper samt teori inom produktionsteknik. Anledningen till valet av tre olika lösningar med olika automatiseringsgrad inom produktionssystemet motiveras med att ge Candles Scandinavia Production AB olika alternativ att välja mellan.

Abstract [en]

Candles Scandinavia Production AB is a company that today produces candles under its own brand but also for other companies. They started their company in 2011 and have since then become one of Europe's leading companies in the candle industry. Candles Scandinavia Production AB started manufacturing a new product called Diffusers in the spring of 2017. This thesis has performed a feasibility study to see how a production system for Diffusers can be set up without disturbing the current production line and what opportunities there are for an integration of the two production systems.

An analysis of the production of Diffusers has been conducted through observation, process mapping and by a dialog with the employees. The production has been analysed by using Lean principles like waste identification and failure modes and effects analysis of the process. Based on different methods, three different solutions have been developed with different degrees of automation, all with the ability to integrate with the current production line. The proposals for the new layouts of the production system is created with Lean principles as well as other theory linked to production technology. The reason why three different solutions with different degree of automation within the production system has been chosen is to give Candles Scandinavia Production AB different options to choose from.
