This study explores the rhetorical mechanisms identified in the police’s crisis communication in connection with the terrorist attack on Drottninggatan, 7th of April 2017. By interpreting the effects expressions can have in a turbulent, situational and interactive process. In crisis situations, the sender is communicating in a rational (logos) manner based on situation, pathos, and credibility (ethos). This means that the sender understands when the correct moment (kairos) arrives and designs the information in a way that reflects on communicating the correct communication in crisis situations. This reduces the risk of missing something, and gives the information a full expression and demonstrates action on many different levels. Thus, it creates a linguistically obvious value base in a crisis situation
