Abstract [sv]

Detta är en rapport över det examensarbete inom ingenjörsutbildningen Industriell design och produktutveckling

 som utfördes på TRV-avdelningen på ABB i Ludvika. På ABB Power Transformers PGTR/TRV i Ludvika utvecklar, konstruerar och levererar man produktionsverktyg och specialmaskiner internt inom ABB, både lokalt och globalt.

I samband med framtagning av dessa verktyg och maskiner skapas en stor mängd information som idag lagras på en nätverkshårddisk. För att underlätta sökandet bland all dokumentation har man ett egenutvecklat Excel-baserat program till sin hjälp. Då man idag har hand om fler projekt än tidigare skapas mer och mer information. I samband med detta har denna lösning på dokumenthantering identifierats som ett område som behöver utvecklas för att klara av den ökande mängd information. Målet med detta examensarbete var att ta fram ett beslutsunderlag kring ett nytt dokumenthanteringssystem.

En nulägesanalys genomfördes för att identifiera vilka områden som kunde förbättras inom dokumenthanteringen. Utifrån denna analys togs en kravspecifikation fram. Denna beskrev vilka krav lösningsalternativen som togs fram skulle möta. Efter dessa krav var specificerade togs lösningsalternativ fram via diskussioner med IT-ansvariga på företaget. När dessa lösningsalternativ var framtagna analyserades dessa gentemot kravspecifikationen för att säkerställa att de mötte de krav som ställdes. Ett sista steg var en djupare analys av de lösningsalternativ som mötte de krav som ställts för att avgöra vilket av alternativen som var mest lämpat för implementation på avdelningen.

Den fördjupande analysen visade att det bäst lämpade alternativet bestod av PDM-systemet Windchill PDMLink från mjukvarutillverkaren PTC samt det egenutvecklade dokumenthanteringssystemet, i denna rapport benämnt som, PrMS.

Abstract [en]

This is a report on the bachelor thesis within the engineering program Industrial design and product development that was carried out at the TRV-department at ABB Ludvika. ABB Power Transformers PGTR/TRV in Ludvika develops, designs and supplies production tools and special machinery internally at ABB, both locally and globally.

A great deal of information is created when these tools and machines are being developed, information which today is stored on a network connected hard disc drive. To facilitate the ability to search among the vast variety of documents a self-developed Excel-based program is at hand. The department manages more projects than ever before which leads to more and more information being created. With this in mind the current document management solution has been identified as an area of potential development to be able to handle the increased information volume. The objective of this thesis was to create qualitative data upon an informed decision about a new document handling system could be taken.

To identify which areas within the document management could be improved an analysis of the current situation was conducted. Based upon this analysis a requirement specification was developed. This specified which demands that were required to be met by the potential solutions. After these demands were specified the potential solutions were concretized through discussions with people responsible for the IT infrastructure at the company. When these potential solutions had been concretized they were subject to an analysis, which examined each potential solutions ability to meet the demands in the requirement specification, to ensure that the requirements would be met. The last step was to further analyze the solutions, which indeed did meet the requirements, on a deeper level to get a better understanding of which specific solutions was the best suited and would berecommended for implementation.

The finalizing analysis showed that the best suited solutions consisted of the PDM system Windchill PDMLink from the software manufacturer PTC and the internally developed document management system, in this thesis titled as, PrMS.
