Abstract [en]

During the last few decades the phenomenon of organizational culture and values have grown to get more attention. The purpose of this paper is to examine the similarities and differences between two organizations in the electrical, plumbing & construction industry when it comes to implementing values and how this can be seen in the organizational culture. Previous research on this subject shows that values can work well as long as they are easy to understand and apply to the daily work. Other studies also suggest that the organizational culture can differ between organizations in the same branch of work. The theoretical framework for this paper consists of theories about organizational culture, values, leadership and communication. According to the study, based on six semi-structured interviews with three members of two organizations, shows that communication about the values are of importance and that the values may work consolidating on an already existing organizational culture. Although, it is hard to say if the values affect the organizational culture or if the culture has an affect on the values.
