Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

This study examined whether more detailed maps, time charts andtheoretical guidance could lead to better criminal analyzes into a hotspot for assaults. The study also examined the extent to which therewere differences within and between different occupational groups aswell as within and between groups with different experience in crimeprevention. The sample consisted of a total of 116 respondents, dividedamong 73 women, 42 men and one person who did not want to state sex(16 policemen, 17 coordinators, 7 strategists, 14 other professionals and59 laymen / university students). Respondents received a survey via theweb where hot spot for assault was presented in six different levels ofinformation. The results showed a significant increase in the number ofidentified causes of crime in all professions and experience groups. Therefore, we conclude that more detailed maps, information on timingand theoretical guidance on criminal analyzes will lead to theidentification of more accurate causes of crime, irrespective ofoccupational groups or groups with different experience in crimeprevention. In the future, this knowledge could result in criminalanalyzes being conducted in a more detail way and thus more effectivecrime prevention measures could be implemented.
