Mathematically gifted – How teachers can adapt classroom instruction for mathematically gifted students (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

This research overview aims at compiling the research currently available to mathematically gifted students. The research question is: How can teachers adapt classroom instruction for mathematically gifted students to promote their knowledge development in mathematics? The method of the essay is based on a systematic literature analysis, which compiles already conducted research. The results show that differentiated instruction does not have a particularly significant effect on knowledge development, and that the ability groups demonstrate an increased knowledge development of mathematically gifted students. Particularly efficient were the ability groups outside the classroom together with students from other classes. Further research in the field, however, is necessary as there is not much today.
