Abstract [en]

In this study, Critical Discourse Analysis examines the discursive construction of sustainable

development using texts from the webpage of the Swedish multinational corporation H&M.

The study additionally examines the ongoing discussion of corporate and environmental

responsibility, specifically regarding H&M. The theories implemented throughout this

analysis are the Critical Discourse Theory and the CSR theory. The result demonstrate that

the dominant discourses are built on ideas of: (1) H&M is a resource for sustainable

development, (2) sustainability is conceivable through private actors and (3) neoliberalism.
