Abstract [sv]

Vikten av att kunna spåra produkterfår en allt större roll i dagens samhälle. Spårbarhet gör detmöjligt att för varje steg i processkedjan ha tillgång till fullständig information om produkten.I en stor organisation med en komplex produkt används därmed spårbarhet som ett verktygför att kvalitetssäkra produkten.

Syftet med examensarbetet var att undersöka hur effektivt Siemens konstruktörer arbetar medatt sätta upp spårbarhetskrav för de komponenter som används i deras produkter. För attbesvara frågan har en processanlys genomförts med hjälp av kvantitativa och kvalitativaint ervjuer. Undersökningen kommer fram till att en processförbättrings grupp som övervaka roch utvecklar spårbarhetsprocessen bör bildas.

Theimportance of product trace a bility has an ever increacing roll in society today. For eachstep in a trace a bility process, the trac e a bility parameters of a product ensures that access tothe complete product information is available. In a large organisation with a complex product sthe trace a bility is used as a tool for quality assurance of the product.

The objective of this thesis was to investigate how the design engineers at Si emens areworking with definition of tracability par ameters for the components that make up Siemensproducts. The investigation was conducted by quantative and qualitiy interviews wi th anumber of system and design engineers in order to conduct process analysis of their workflowregarding the aspect of tracebility. The results of the investigation showed that a dedicatedgroup should be set up at Siemens, to develop and monitor the tr ace ability process.
