Abstract [en]

The purpose of this study was to examine parents opinion of the preventionprogramme Step-by-step. Step-by-step is a programme for families and the programme is designed for parents and children. The questions at issue in the study contained parents opinion of what has been most prominent in the programme, if the programme has inplied any changes for the parenting and if the programme inplied any changes in the relation between parents and children. A qualitative method has been used and six parents have been interviewed. This method was elected with the intention that in a deeper way describe different individuales experiences of the programme. Data has been analysed with a starting point in previous research, empowerment and the perspective of salutogenetics. The result showed that parents consistently regarded that the programme Step-by-step was good and important. The majority of the parents also thougt that the programme had strengthen them in the parenting and that the relations to their children had improved. The most differential in our result was that the parents emphasized the importance of meeting in groups. The result

also showed that parents expressed a wish of a follow-up of the programme.
