Abstract [en]

The present study is based on a model called “Trappan”, an intervention model aimed at children exposed to domestic violence. In the practical work with this model, the child meets a professional social worker and together they create a narrative story of the violent event, and the purpose is to tell the story with a beginning, middle and an end. This model is relatively unexplored and there are indications of that this model is practised different in various organizations. Therefore this study aims to investigate how the model is practised. The aim of this study is to deepen the understanding of how professionals practice- from their description- Trappan and how it can be related to organizational conditions. In this study a qualitative approach was used, and an interview method and a vignette method were applied. The vignette method was used because we wanted a context in the conversations. The interviews were set with professionals who all practise Trappan in their work. Because this study takes interest in organizational conditions and how they can be used to understand how professional social workers practice this model, the place where they worked was of interest. Therefore seven respondents were chosen for this study and they all worked in public or non profit organizations. The result that emerges in this study presents the professional workers’ descriptions of their practice. This is then related to the study’s theories. The result implies that the organization the professional worked in affected their practise of the model. Differences can also be seen when it comes to the professionals in the different organizations: public and non profit. That could be related to this study’s theories. Finally the study indicates further research in this area, because of the lack of research.
