Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

Adults and youths with psychopathic personality disorder have been associated with criminal activities. This raised the question whether it was possible to identify psychopathic traits in young children? If so, would it be a problematic group of children? Would the group of children with psychopathic traits be different from other groups of children in externalizing behaviours? This research was done through two different questionnaires, one was given to teachers at pre-school and the other one was given to the child’s parents. The study included 309 children, in the age of 3-5 years. The research was done in three medium sized cities in Sweden. The result showed that there was a group of children with psychopathic traits. The group of children with psychopathic traits, together with a group of children with high impulsivity both showed behaviours that correspond with externalizing behaviours.
