Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

Epiroc Rock Drills AB is a world leader in the mining and infrastructure industry. Within Epiroc, a project called Excellerate is now underway, which affects the part of the organization that manages the supply chain. The project is planning a new distribution network that relies more on third-party logistics. The reason is to get their articles closer to customers and reduce both lead time and transport costs. However, with this, questions arise about how the future flow of articles should look like. Through interviews and observations, data have been collected to generate current status analyses. The analyses form the basis for benchmarking and generating concepts, which shaped ideas for potential future flows. The flows are developed with lean philosophy at its core. They are presented visually using process maps and spaghetti diagrams. Lastly, the significance of the results and how to proceed are discussed.
