Abstract [en]

Problem solving is a big part of today's mathematics teaching. Both current curriculum and international research emphasize the importance of developing students' problem-solving ability. The purpose of this study is to investigate and map what research says about different teaching methods that develop students' problem-solving ability. Through a systematic literature study, we examine and compile research in our chosen field. The results show that there is some variation in which teaching methods are being used, but that many similarities can be identified among these. All articles show that a consistent teaching of mathematical problem-solving leads to a positive development of students' problem-solving ability.

Abstract [sv]

Problemlösning är en stor del av dagens matematikundervisning. Både aktuella styrdokument och internationell forskning betonar vikten av att utveckla elevers problemlösningsförmåga. Syftet med studien är att undersöka och kartlägga vad forskning säger om olika undervisningsmetoder för att utveckla elevers problemlösningsförmåga. Studien grundar sig i en systematisk litteraturstudie som undersöker och sammanställer forskning inom vårt valda område. Resultatet visar att det finns en viss variation i vilka undervisningsmetoder som används, men att många likheter går att identifiera bland dessa. Samtliga artiklar visar att en konsekvent undervisning av matematisk problemlösning leder till en positiv utveckling av elevers problemlösningsförmåga.
