Abstract [en]
Fiji is one of the Small Island Development States (SIDS) localised in the Pacific Ocean. SIDS are highly vulnerable to climate change and are believed to become some of the first victims of climate change consequences. In this Bachelor’s thesis, the focus will lay on climate change adaptation measures in Fiji, because the state is facing major consequences that need to be adapted to. Furthermore, Fiji is interesting due to its role as a precursor in implementing climate change adaptation measures. The Bachelor’s thesis uses the perspective of justice as well as adaptation measures on the local, national and international levels in regard to adaptation in Fiji. The data collection of this Bachelor’s thesis contains semi-structured interviews with nine respondents with professional knowledge, in combination with collected documents. The Bachelor's thesis has a perspective of political science and it will use a qualitative method.
