An increasing number of emergent multilingual children with various language experiences and backgrounds are enrolled in ECEC settings. Educators are facing both challenges and opportunities in ways of scaffolding multilingual children´s language development. The Nordic curricula emphasize that reading aloud and parental collaboration should be central elements in language education. This symposium brings together studies from a Nordic perspective in which read-alouds and parental collaboration, are infocus for multilingual children’s education, curiosity, agency, and participation in ECEC settings.
