Abstract [sv]

Det här arbetet har utförts hos Atlas Copco AB i Örebro. Arbetet innebar att komma med nya idéer till hur så kallade segment kan utformas. Segment är en kropp av gummi som har urtag där borrstänger kan lagras. Resultatet av arbetet blev att ett alternativt material i armerad PTFE kunde presenteras. Projektet startade med att upprätta en kravspecifikation för ett alternativt material för att därefter göra ett materialval utifrån kravspecifikationen. Det gjordes även en undersökning angående hur segmenten sitter fast och hur en feljustering av infästningen påverkar segmenten.

 

Abstract [en]

This task has been done at Atlas Copco AB in Örebro. The task was to come up with new ideas for design of so-called segments. A segment is a rod holder made in rubber with recess where the rods can be stored. The result of this work was that an alternative polymeric material in reinforced PTFE was presented. The project began with establishing a set of requirements for an alternative material, and make a material selection based on the specification. A study on how the segments are fixed and how a misalignment of mounting influences the segments was also done.
