Sammanfattning

Denna studie handlar om skolkuratorers arbetssituation. Syftet med studien var att undersöka hur skolkuratorer upplevde att stödet och samarbetet påverkade deras arbetssituation. För att undersöka detta använde vi en kvalitativ metod där vi utförde semistrukturerade intervjuer med fem verksamma skolkuratorer. Den vetenskapsteoretiska ansatsen var induktiv. Resultatet ledde fram till att vi använde oss av en rollteoretisk referensram i analysen. Resultatet visade att kuratorerna upplevde handledning samt goda relationer med andra professioner inom skolan som ett stöd i sitt arbete . Att kommunikationen var en förutsättning för ett gott samarbete med andra professioner på skolan var ytterligare ett av resultaten. En slutsats vi kommit fram till efter denna studie var att samarbetet och en god kommunikation mellan alla professioner inom skolan är av stor vikt för att kunna bedriva ett tillfredsställande socialt arbete i skolan. Samarbetet och kommunikationen är också faktorer som kan påverka de olika professionernas antagande av yrkesrollen.

Abstract

 The aim of the following study was to investigate school counselors’ work situation with regards to support and cooperation with other school professionals. A qualitative method was used by means of semi-structured interviews with five school counselors. The approach of the study was inductive and role theoretical perspectives were chosen to analyze the results. The results showed that work related counseling and good relationships with other school professionals were being viewed as supportive factors in the school counselors’ work. Furthermore the results showed that communication is a key for good cooperation with other school professionals. A conclusion made with respect to the results was that good communication and cooperation with other school professionals enables school counselors to conduct satisfying social work at school. Factors that also can influence different professionals assuming of the occupational role are communication and cooperation.
