Ethical codes in the real estate brokerage (English)
Abstract [en]

Purpose: The purpose is to create an understanding of the ethical codes significance in the real estate brokerage. The intention is to ultimately obtain an insight on how they are used within this specific industry. It shall be answered with the question of how a code of ethics applicable to translate into action.

Research methodology: This thesis is based on a qualitative research method in the form of semi-structured interviews were qualitative in nature with eight respondents.

Theoretical framework: This thesis uses the theory that concerns contents, function, communication, implementation and effects of an ethical code.

Conclusions: The conclusions include that the ethical codes applied in a supportive way, to keep the real estate agents outside the gray zone. In the implementation phase, the real estate agencies uses a personal commitment to translate the code into action with self-examination and correction to occur. Even so was the ethical codes used as a living document to meet the unique context in which the real estate working in. Communication consisted mainly of an informal one in which discussions was most appropriate.
