    Abstract [en]

This study is written in collaboration with a barnahus in Sweden. Barnhahus is a collaboration between agencies regarding children under the age of 18 who have been exposed to domestic violence, sex crimes and other serious crimes. The purpose of the study has been to investigate the cooperation of the police and social services in this barnahus. The cooperation between these two professionals has been described as problematic in other research contexts. The authors have read five different studies that all discuss this problem from different perspective from around the world. The authors of this study have its theoretic base in system theory where these professionals are seen as two different systems that meet on the joint meeting point that barnahus is. Understanding is a term that is essential as a central part of the communication. The material has been collected by semi-structured interviews with three representatives from each authority. These interviews have its focus on and are themed after different themes; these discuss, for example, the view of their own and the other authority and the cooperation between them and also about what could be improved. The result shows mostly positive aspects of the cooperation, though with hints of details that create a discontent. This does not conform previous research and is therefore discussed further where methods and ethical views are also examined.
