    Abstract [en]

The purpose of this study is to investigate whether the employability of newly graduated social workers is affected by the Supervised Practical Work Experience performed during the educational program. Four main questions were developed in order to establish an educated and concise theory: Does the newly graduated social worker’s choice of a specific Supervised Practical Work Experience affect their employability? Does the structure of the Supervised Practical Work Experience affect newly graduated social worker’s employability? What specific skills do employers within social work consider important for their organization? Is there a difference in how the representatives of various organizations within social work answer the aforementioned questions? The study was conducted through six qualitative semi-structured interviews. The people being interviewed work either as employers or recruiters in organizations from different areas within social work. Theories concerning organization and symbolic interactions were used during the analysis of the results. The results show that there is no direct link between newly graduated social worker’s employability and the Supervised Practical Work Experience performed during the educational program. However, there are indications that show that if the applicant has done their Supervised Practical Work Experience at the specific department that is advertising vacancies, then it can have a positive impact on employment opportunities at the given agency. There are differences between the participants in the study when it comes to what skills and experiences that are being highly valued.

Stressing emotions: A single subject design study testing an emotion-focused transdiagnostic treatment for stress-related ill health2011Independent thesis Advanced level (degree of Master (One Year)), 20 credits / 30 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

     Abstract

Individual psychological factors have been recognized to play an important role in the development of stress-related symptomatology. Despite extensive comorbidity between stress-related ill health and mood disorders, the advances in research on emotion regulation and transdiagnostics, have not been recognized in stress research to any considerable degree. In the current study, using a single subject design with multiple baselines across individuals (n=6), a transdiagnostic treatment intervention targeting maladaptive emotional regulation strategies was implemented on patients suffering from stress-related symptomatology. Results show that symptoms of exhaustion decreased in five of six participants on post-measures, with considerable convergence between measures of depression, anxiety and stress. Further investigation of treatment effects, alongside the processes linking emotion regulation and stress-related symptomatology are needed.

    Abstract [en]

What assessment instruments used in drug and dependent care, and the extent to which the Swedish municipalities are using these instruments is an unexplored area. Socialstyrelsen published in 2007, national guidelines for drug and dependent care which advocates the use of assessment instruments. The study aim is to examine the extent to which, for what purpose and how conditions look for the use of assessment instruments in the social service work with drug and dependent care. How frequent is the use of assessment instruments and the advantages and disadvantages apparent in the use of these? The essay has a rate of quantitative and qualitative elements based on telephone interviews with ten respondents. Those working as administrators in the drug and dependent care for adults and have access to assessment instruments. The results showed that eight out of ten sites (80%) use different assessment instruments. Main purpose is to clarify the client's problem, see the effort need, have a global perspective and to create the active participation of the client. The conditions for the use of assessment instruments are in the form of training and support from the organization, but the absence still time, knowledge and equipment to use them fully. The government intends to evidence-based practice is to create an evidence-based knowledge. Although this study shows that the evaluation and statistics are two areas in the existing management of the assessment instrument.

    Abstract [sv]

    Abstract

The importance of the co-occurrence of callous-unemotional traits and impulsivity concerning aggressive acts was examined by a survey. The participants consisted of 1478 Swedish youth. Three groups with extreme scores on callous-unemotional traits and impulsivity was identified.  The group scored high on both was more prone to show higher levels of aggressive and conduct problems behavior compare to the other groups. The aggressive and conduct problem behavior was shown at higher level in all examine variables. This study highlight that impulsivity can identify extreme aggressive individuals, without taking HIA (Hyperactivity, Impulsivity and Attention) problem as a entirety, to account, if shown with callous-unemotional traits.

En psykometrisk utvärdering av frågeformulären PSAS-C och APSQ som mått på sömnrelaterad oro2010Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [sv]

    Abstract [en]

    Abstract

In this survey the authors studied how having a child with Aspergers syndrome affects the

parents. The purpose of this survey was getting a glimpse of the parent’s experiences of

support from governmental instances as well as from their own network. This survey has been

executed from a qualitative point of view. The authors have completed interviews with six

parents of children with Aspergers syndrome. The semi structure of the questions gave the

authors the possibility to perform more freely and to ask follow up questions to get

information. Crises theory and systems theory were the theoretical ground selected for this

survey. These theories were chosen out of thoughts that they would help the author’s to find

an understanding of the parent’s experiences and reflections. Previous research showed in

resemblance to the author’s studies that parents of children with Aspergers syndrome need the

support of their relatives and friends. Results of the studies show a lack in the emotional

support that the parents want from their family and friends. Previous research as well as the

result from this study showed that parents want coordinated assistants from authorities

The result also shows that practical support from authorities like school demands a diagnosis

on the child. Even though the child has been diagnosed some parents experience a lack of

support, especially from school. An example on future research could be a survey how to

improve and develop cooperation between different authorities.

    Abstract [en]

The purpose of this study was to examine how participants experience the content and design, in a parent group. The study was conducted with a qualitative approach, in which eight parents were interviewed. Data material has been processed and analyzed with a qualitative manifest content analysis, and the study's theoretical framework consider primarily the perspective of systems, Putnam's and Bourdieu's theory of social capital and Erikson's psychosocial development theory. Significant results were that the parent group was perceived as important, especially to establish new social contacts, experience and safeness reliance from another first-time parent. It was also important to have a leader with social competence, where sensitivity and flexibility were significant quality. It also emerged that the information that was provided was not the most significant, instead the interaction between the parents was the main reason for participation. The results also show that becoming a parent was a draining process both to themselves and their relationship

Juridiska personers möjligheter att flytta sitt säte inom EU: En analys av etableringsrätten enligt FEUF samt inkorporerings- och sätesprinciperna2011Independent thesis Advanced level (professional degree), 20 credits / 30 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [sv]

Year)), 20 credits / 30 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [sv]

New directions in comparative law2009Collection (editor) (Other academic)
    Abstract [en]

    Description

This in-depth book explores the changing role of comparative law in an era of Europeanisation and globalisation. It explains how national law coexists and interacts with supranational and international law and how legal rules are produced by a variety of institutions alongside and beyond the nation-state. The book combines both theoretical and practically oriented contributions in the areas of law and development, comparative constitutional law, as well as comparative private and economic law.
