Journalen 10 år! November 9-10, 2022 i Uppsala2022 är det 10 år sedan Region Uppsalas patienter för första gången kunde ta del av sin journal via nätet. Sedan dess har mycket hänt i Sverige, och nu har i stort sett alla svenska invånader digital tillgång till sin journalinformation via tjänsten "Journalen" på 1177.se. Svenska forskare har följt implementeringen sedan start, inte minst inom DOME konsortiet (https://domeconsortium.org/). Utvecklingen mot att ge patienter tillgång till sina journaler sker inte bara i Sverige, utan runtom i världen. Forskare från DOME-konsortiet (Maria Hägglund, Uppsala Universitet, PI) deltar bland annat i det nordiska forskningssamarbetet NORDeHEALTH i samarbete med Norge, Finland, Estland och USA. I USA trädde ny lagstiftning i kraft i april 2021 där patienters rätt att få tillgång till sina journaler fastslås. EU går nu i en liknande riktning med det nya förslaget om en European Health Data Space (EHDS), där man fastslår att alla medlemsländer ska säkerställa att sina invånare har online tillgång till sina journaler senast 2030. Patienters tillgång till sin journal är med andra ord högaktuellt, och vi vill ta tillfället i akt att bjuda in internationella forskare till Uppsala för att sprida erfarenheter kring implementering och effekter av patienters tillgång till sin journal runt om i världen. Vi planerar en 2-dagars konferens med inbjudna talare från både USA och Europa. Även om konferensen har ett vetenskapligt huvudfokus vill vi att den ska vara öppen för allmänheten, och för att säkerställa att alla som vill lyssna ska kunna göra det vill vi också livesända konferensen online.

Journalen 10 år! November 9-10, 2022 i Uppsala2022 marks the 10 year anniversary of Region Uppsala giving patients online access to their electronic health records (EHR) for the first time. Since then, a lot has happened in Sweden, and today all citizens have direct online access to their EHR through the e-health service "Journalen" on 1177.se. Swedish researchers have followed the implementation since the start, not the least through the DOME consortium (https://domeconsortium.org/). The shift towards giving patients online access to their EHR is not exclusive to Sweden, but happing throughout the world. Researchers from the DOME-consortium participate in the nordic research collaboration NORDeHEALTH with colleagues from Norge, Finland, Estonia and the USA (Maria Hägglund, Uppsala Universitet, PI). In the US, a new legislation came into force in April 2021 where patients rigth to access their electronic health records is strengthened. The EU now moves in a similar direction with the proposal for a European Health Data Space (EHDS), where all member states are required to ensure their citizens have online access to their EHR no later than 2030. Patients online access to their EHRs is therefore highly relevant, and we would like to take the opportunity to invite international researchers to Uppsala to share experiences of the implemenation and effects of patients online access to records throughout the world. We will organize a 2-day event with invited speakers from both the US and Europe. The conference will have a scientific focus, but will be open to the public. To ensure that everyone who wants to attend can do so, we also wish to livestream the conference onlien.
