Abstract [sv]

Trenden i samhället idag är att det tillbringas kortare tid i arbetslivet samtidigt som det finns ett hot om en framtida arbetskraftsbrist. Syftet med studien var att undersöka faktorer som är av betydelse för äldre medarbetares beslut om tidpunkt för pensionering. Variablerna krav, kontroll, stöd, ekonomisk situation, hälsa och attityd till pension undersöktes genom ett frågeformulär. 117 assistenter i Örebro kommun deltog i undersökningen. Resultatet visade att attityd till pension hade ett negativt samband med hälsa, civilstånd samt ålder. Om människors partner förvärvsarbetar visade sig istället ha ett positivt samband med attityden till pension. Krav, kontroll och stöd hade ingen direkt inverkan på attityd till pension. Däremot hade personer vars arbetsförhållanden karaktäriserades av höga krav, låg kontroll och lågt stöd, en dålig hälsa.

Abstract [en]

There is a trend in the community today that people spend shorter time in working life at the same time as a threat of a future lack of labour exists. The purpouse of this study was to examine the factors that are of significance in the decision of moment for retirement by older co-workers. The variables demand, control, social support, economic situation, health and the attitude towards retirement were examined through a questionaire. 117 assistants in the municipality of Örebro participated in the study. The result showed that health, marital status, and age had a negative relation with the attitude towards retirement. The ocupation of the partner had instead a positive relation with the attitude towards retirement. Demand, control and social support had no instant effect on the attitude towards retirement. However, people with a working situation that had characteristics of high demands, low control and low social support showed a poorer health.
