Abstract [en]

In Sweden, the last couple of years have entailed an increased amount of concern, due to events like the Corona-pandemic and an ongoing war in Europe. These situations have made the Swedish population more crisis- and risk-aware than they were before. In this independent study we explore Swedish students' crisis preparations as well as their risk knowledge. The aim of this pilot study is to examine students' risk- and crisis preparations as well as what affects them. From previous research in the field and the study's theoretical framework, an individual's trust in the state as well as one's demographic qualities, should affect your riskand crisis preparations. The study's aim and research questions are analyzed quantitatively based on the study's survey. The results from the survey showed that an individual's demographic qualities do affect one's risk- and crisis preparations and that one's trust in the state does not. Students' risk- and crisis preparations are dormant for the most part, something that we discuss and that would be interesting to base future studies on.
