"Whose Alter Ego?" är en dansföreställning och ett samarbete mellan dansare och koreograf Jessica Andrenacci, kompositör Anders Ekman och Örebro Universitets robotlabb. Föreställningen uruppfördes i oktober 2024 och har sedan dess spelats vid flera tillfällen. Föreställningen fick stöd från Region Örebro Län.

Musiken till "Whose Alter Ego?" skapades för att representera de två alter egon som finns på scenen - människan och roboten. Kontrasten dessa två emellan speglas i musikens två ansikten - dels den rytmiska och kvantiserade elektroniska musiken, dels den agogiska akustiska musiken. Skiljelinjen mellan robot och månniska är inte alltid så tydlig. Av den anledningen ackompanjerar den elektroniska musiken människans dans medan roboten dansar (och så småningom också människan) till den akustiska musiken.

"Whose Alter Ego?" is a dance performance and a collaboration between dancer and choreographer Jessica Andrenacci, composer Anders Ekman, and Örebro University’s robot lab. The performance premiered in October 2024 and has since been performed several times. The project received support from Region Örebro County.

The music for "Whose Alter Ego?" was created to represent the two alter egos present on stage - the human and the robot. The contrast between the two is reflected in the music's two faces - on one hand, the rhythmic and quantized electronic music, and on the other hand, the agogic acoustic music. The line between robot and human is not always so clear. For this reason, the electronic music accompanies the human's dance while the robot dances (and eventually also the human) to the acoustic music.

"Whose Alter Ego?" är en dansföreställning där en dansare och en robot på scenen interagerar för att utforska identiteten hos både människan och roboten samt deras relation. Är roboten dansarens alter ego, eller är det tvärtom? Föreställningen utforskar samspelet mellan teknologi och konst och reflekterar över samhällets stress, vårt beroende av teknologi samt frågor om empati och mänsklighet. Publiken får uppleva dynamiken mellan två identiteter som alltmer lever i symbios i dagens samhälle. Kan vi känna igen oss i robotiska rörelser, känslan av alienation och förlust av frihet? Söker roboten en möjlighet att uppleva naturen, livet och att uppfylla sina konstruerade drömmar?

"Whose Alter Ego?" is a dance performance where a dancer and a robot interact on stage to explore the identity of both the human and the robot, as well as their relationship. Is the robot the dancer's alter ego, or is it the other way around? The performance investigates the interplay between technology and art and reflects on societal stress, our dependence on technology, as well as questions of empathy and humanity. The audience gets to experience the dynamics between two identities that increasingly live in symbiosis in today’s society. Can we recognize ourselves in robotic movements, the feeling of alienation, and the loss of freedom? Does the robot seek a chance to experience nature, life, and fulfill its constructed dreams?
