Developments in European Higher Education (HE) are currently under way which are believed to result in changes in underlying public sector reform logics along with new challenges related to performance measurement and accountability. Still, recent reviews about European Higher Education have mostly focused on academic- or managerial experiences in modern Higher Education Institutions or on effects of older reform. Therefore, and on the basis of a purposive sample of articles, we identify different models of accountability and performance measurement present in the Higher Education reforms of selected European countries representative of different administrative traditions and differing in their use of three currently influential public sector reform logics. We conclude by presenting comparative results which reveal how the three public sector reform logics are used in the chosen countries' HE reforms when it comes to performance measurement and accountability and also reveal important and unique national trajectories and diversity.
