AbstractBackground: Swedish nurses working abroad face both professional and cultural challengesand opportunities, especially in countries with different healthcare systems and workingconditions. In Spain, where many Swedes live or visit each year, the demand for Swedishcare has increased, leading to the establishment of Swedish-owned clinics. Thus, it´simportant to explore their work to improve both care quality for Swedish citizens but also thework environments for Swedish nurses.Aim: The aim with this school project is to describe Swedish nurses' experiences of workingabroad with Swedish patients.Method: The school project used a qualitative approach and was analyzed using a model forqualitative content analysis.Results: The results described how Swedish nurses experience caring for Swedish patientsabroad, specifically on the Spanish Costa del Sol. Several factors, such as the workenvironment, support from colleagues, and integration into Spanish society, influenced theirexperiences and contributed to a sense of professional and personal growth.Conclusion: This school project aimed to deepen the understanding of Swedish nurses caringfor Swedish patients abroad. The school project highlights aspects that can be used to developunderstanding and improve collaboration between caregivers and healthcare systems.Key words: Nursing care, Spain, Experiences, Working abroad, Swedish patients
