Studiens syfte har varit att söka kunskap om socialsekreterares erfarenheter i övervägandet av att placera barn inom det redan befintliga nätverket. Vidare har studien syftat till att undersöka hur socialsekreterarna beskriver sitt faktiska handlande i handläggningen av övervägandet. Det har genomförts sex intervjuer med socialsekreterare från en kommun i Mellansverige och utifrån en tematisk analys har resultatet analyserats med hjälp av systemteori med inriktning på Bronfenbrenners utvecklingsekologiska modell samt Lipskys teori. Resultatet har visat att socialsekreterarna både har positiva och negativa erfarenheter av nätverksplaceringar samt att flera faktorer såsom resurser, stöttning från arbetsplatsen samt kontakt med nätverket har en inverkan i övervägandet av placeringsform. Resultatet visar även att socialsekreterarna har flera arbetsmetoder som syftar till att involvera nätverket och att en nätverksplacering är något som socialsekreterarna vill sträva efter i de fall det går

The purpose of this study has been to explore social workers' experiences in considering the placement of children within their existing network. Additionally, the study aimed to examine how social workers describe their actual actions in the decision-making process. Six interviews were conducted with social workers from a municipality in central Sweden, and the results were analyzed using a thematic approach, drawing on systems theory, specifically Bronfenbrenner’s ecological model of development and Lipsky’s theory. The findings revealed that social workers have both positive and negative experiences with network-based placements, with several factors, such as available resources, workplace support, and contact with the network, having an impact on the decision-making process. The results also indicated that social workers employ various methods to involve the network, and that a network placement is something they strive for, whenever possible.
