Abstract [en]

As companies become increasingly data-driven, the need for efficient and automated data handling processes grows. At Scania Oskarshamn, the Special Order process previously relied heavily on manual tasks such as gathering, comparing, and reviewing data from multiple databases. This thesis presents a solution using Microsoft Power BI and Power Automate to centralize, visualize, and automate these tasks. The implementation involved integrating disparate data sources into a unified Power BI dashboard and using Power Automate to trigger daily updates and workflows. The new system not only streamlines data access but also highlights relevant changes, reducing the time spent on routine checks and minimizing the risk of human error. A comparative study between experienced and occasional users showed a significant reduction in time and effort, with daily tasks being completed in less than half the time previously required. The approach demonstrates the impact of digital tools in improving industrial workflows, offering a scalable and secure framework for similar applications in other data-intensive environments.
