In an organization people come and go and the need to recruit always occurs in one way or another. Recruitment is about finding the right humans and bringing the important expertise in to the organization. There is a variety of options for how needs can be handled and decisions must always be taken on matters about personnel issues. In the decision making the need should be analyzed regarding its true meaning. However, the theory says that organizations often are careless with this analysis and that decisions about recruitment are taken without this analysis.
Our ambition with this essay is to describe how an organization comes up to and makes decisions about the initial stages of recruitment and how it should be handled. We also wish to describe which factors that has an impact on the decision making.
To answer our research question we have conducted two interviews with one respondent from a company located in Örebro. This has given us answers to how this person makes decisions in the initial stages of recruitment. The collected material was analyzed by using the theories about recruitment and decision making. Finally we conclude that the recruitment process and its decision making in the studied organization is very complex and do not follow any specific structure.
